Dr. Kurt Johnson

kurtjohnson.jpgKurt Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is also the director of the U.W. Centre for Technology and Disability Studies as well as the U.W. Employment Program for people with intellectual and other disabilities. In addition to supervising the clinical rehabilitation counselling services at the university teaching hospitals, he teaches in the Disability Studies program and is a core faculty member in the Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences program. Dr. Johnson has multiple externally funded research projects focusing on employment, measuring participation and other outcomes of rehabilitation, and technology. Dr. Johnson received his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1984 and completed his internship in clinical psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Medical Centre. Subsequently he taught in the graduate programs in rehabilitation counselling and counselling psychology at Florida State University before assuming his current faculty position at the U.W. in 1990.
