Respect
This DOCTRID Conference is a potential catalyst for significant change and will provide concrete benefits for organisations and individuals. I believe our mission is to continue to keep people with disabilities to the forefront and the challenge is to give them the very best and constantly seek to provide a service of excellence for all those who seek the benefit of technology and research. No organisation can stand still. We are now embarking on a new phase to see how best we can continue to improve the lives of those with disabilities. When we look around and see the wonderful advances that technology and research have brought to the lives of so many – we feel that the time is now right to engage with other disciplines to share our knowledge and expertise both at home and abroad.
Achievements to date would not be possible without the dedication and expertise of many professionals and carers that work tirelessly for the benefit of others and for this we should all be very grateful.
To continue the good work that is being done for People with Disabilities, Technology and Research should play a greater part in their lives, and we are proud to have on board a group of very dedicated advisors in unison with the Universities to convene this Conference.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome all those who will join us for this special day in Carton House.
