DOCTRID to host symposium at European conference

DOCTRID has been invited to host a symposium on Assistive Technologies at the upcoming ES:GC2 (European Science: Global Challenges, Global Collaboration) which takes place in Brussels on March 2nd-6th 2015. This follows on from the 2013 ES:GC2 conference at which DOCTRID also hosted a successful session on Assistive Technologies (pictured left). The ES:GC2 conference brings together scientists, government officials, policy makers and industry representatives to explore the role of science and research collaboration in addressing global challenges.

DOCTRID are leading the way in research into technologies for disability and autism and this symposium will provide a forum to discuss the grand challenges in Assistive Technologies,  taking examples from ASSISTID and other international research and service provider programmes. Speakers from the DOCTRID network will address topics which include Assistive Technologies for intellectual disability, autism, independent and assisted living, healthcare and service provision. The symposium will highlight the need for specific European funding mechanisms in Assistive Technologies to maximise R&D impact which will ultimately improve the lives of people with disabilities.
